Top London agency switches to window film for its glass roof

Major London-based advertising agency BBH has had installed in its Regent Street headquarters the type of conservatory window film often used in domestic buildings. The window film works in the same way as does conservatory window film in Manchester homes – or indeed in any home across the UK – by helping to shield occupants and visitors from the sun’s powerful rays.

The agency building possesses a glass roof of considerable dimensions and it is this large area that requires adequate protection from the sun. BBH had originally installed blinds to perform this function but the latter had unfortunately broken down. It consequently opted instead for window film.

The window film that has been installed – like the best domestic conservatory window film – not only heavily reduces glare from the sun, it also stops the building from becoming too hot by blocking the wavelength that transmits solar heating. This latter advantage means there is less need to turn up the air conditioning in the building, which in turn can of course save on energy costs.

The film also helps prevent the fading effect the sun can have on the agency’s furnishings.

The film chosen by the agency is transparent, thus retaining its glass roof’s original bright, airy feel, but without the accompanying discomfort occasioned by strong sunlight.

It is not the first time that BBH has employed window film for its glass areas. The firm also currently benefits from the use of coloured window tinting film in the creation of decorative displays on its interior glass walls and partitions.
